Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecommunications will reportedly launch the iPhone 4S in Taiwan around December 14-16, according to DigiTimes.
The exact date of launch is up to Apple, the sources indicated. The initial shipments of iPhone 4S to Taiwan will be smaller than 30,000 units, with 50% to be allocated to CHT and 25% to TWM and FET each, the sources noted. Most of iPhone 4S models will be of 16GB and 32GB versions, with the 64GB model expected to account for less than 5% of the initial volume available for sale.
The three telecoms are reportedly trying to convince Apple to narrow the price difference between the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 with the same capacities to less than NT$1000 ($33 US).
